It is hard to imagine, isn't it, that nothing has power over us unless we allow it. After all, we are only human and we experience emotions and feelings every day.
To keep your emotions in line, you can: identify and acknowledge your emotions, understand your triggers, practice mindfulness and deep breathing techniques, give yourself space when needed, set healthy boundaries, and actively work to regulate your responses to situations, lower your expectations of others; essentially, by becoming aware of your feelings and learning to manage them healthily.
